Biography

Glass Foundations was initially founded in late 2013 by Jake Berridge (guitar) and Tom Remington (drums). The band’s line up consisted of one vocalist, two guitarists (rhythm and lead), a bassist and a drummer who all met in their first year of study on a BA Hon’s, Popular Music Performance course at Southampton Solent University.

Over the first two years of university, members of the band left as they decided not to continue on with the music course. It wasn’t until the third year of studying at Solent that Miranda Bland (vocals) and Tony White (bassist) joined the band. As the rhythm guitarist left the band, Jake took on the role of covering both rhythm and lead. Now a four piece band, Glass Foundations re-wrote tracks to fit the line up along with writing new songs. Over time a real bond started to grow within the band and Berridge and Remington felt relieved that after three years of hard work, the band line-up was finalised.

Both of Glass Foundations' demos on Soundcloud have been aired on the southern BBC introducing show within one week of uploading them onto the introducing app. They have also been aired on ‘Chat and Spin Radio’ and ‘Talent Radio’. The tracks have received excellent feedback from both the radio stations and their listeners. They are also in the process of arranging a date to play on the southern BBC Introducing live lounge show.
